It's Been a While

As I gather my thoughts, I seem to inhale
It’s been a while since I haven’t felt the need to lie
It’s been fun watching people, watch me
And watching myself turn and change
every time I fit somewhere, I leave
I find my sanction, and disappear. You can have
Me for a little while, but only a little while
Before I’ll leave you.  I’ll leave you, so calmly
And fall into place, somewhere else
You’ll admire the ease and I’ll praise the new.
It’s been a while since I’ve had to write
Since I’ve had to unplug my brain and rework my schedule.
It’s been a while since I’ve had to pencil in time to think.
Thinking hasn’t come to me lately, only actions.
If I think to much, I’ll second-guess myself,
And if I do that then I’ll miss you a little bit too much.
It’s been a while, but it wont be long, before
I leave this whirlwind again, and walk around and talk
Around and become someone else,
It’s been awhile since I’ve seen you, but not much longer
Until I’ve walked myself back home.
It’s been a while.
